Common questions
Where are my memories stored?
On your iPhone, in Orbit's private app sandbox. If you have iCloud Drive enabled, they also sync to your private iCloud so you can pick up between iPhone and Apple Watch. We never see them. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Open Settings on your iPhone (not Orbit — iOS Settings).
- Tap your name at the top → Subscriptions.
- Tap Orbit → Cancel Subscription.
You'll keep Pro features through the end of the current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
Inside Orbit, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This wipes every memory you've captured, signs you out, and resets the app to its first-launch state. The action can't be undone.
Why didn't my voice note transcribe?
Orbit transcribes voice notes using Apple's Speech Recognition. It runs on-device whenever your iPhone supports it; in the rare cases it can't (an older device, a language without on-device support, or before iOS has finished downloading the on-device model), Apple's framework falls back to Apple's hosted speech service. Apple processes the audio in either case — Orbit never receives or stores it.
iOS asks for permission the first time you record. If you previously declined, go to iOS Settings → Orbit → Speech Recognition and turn it on. Existing voice notes will transcribe the next time you open them.
Does Orbit work without internet?
Mostly, yes. Capturing, browsing your timeline, and the AI features run on-device. Voice transcription works offline when your device supports on-device speech (most recent iPhones); if Orbit falls back to Apple's hosted recognition for a given language or model state, that part needs a network. iCloud sync also requires a network when it runs, but neither is required for the rest of the app.
Which iPhones does Orbit support?
Orbit requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later. The AI surfaces (Daily Recap, Ask Orbit, auto-summaries, themes) use Apple Intelligence, available on the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, every iPhone 16 model, and newer. On those devices everything happens on-device. On older supported models you'll get lightweight heuristic versions of the same features.
How does the Apple Watch app work?
Orbit on Apple Watch captures voice notes. Tap the mic, talk, tap to stop. The audio transfers to your iPhone automatically the next time both devices are reachable, and the memory appears in your timeline once Orbit ingests it.
What does my data look like inside Apple Calendar and Reminders?
When you turn on Calendar sync, Orbit creates a dedicated "Orbit" calendar in your Calendar app, and mirrors any task with a due date there. When you turn on Reminders sync, every Orbit task lands in your default Reminders list. Removing the sync toggle stops new events / reminders from being written; existing ones stay until you delete the Orbit calendar or list.
My screen reader / Larger Text setting looks off
Please email us with the device + iOS version. Orbit is designed to respect Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and Reduce Motion across every screen — if a surface isn't honoring your accessibility setting, that's a bug we want to fix.
