The shape of our agreement.
Effective May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Orbit iOS app and related services. Orbit is operated by Joshua Caleb Green ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Orbit, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Orbit.
1. The license you get
We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use Orbit on iOS devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of Orbit.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract Orbit's source code, except where the law expressly permits.
- Use Orbit to break the law, violate someone else's rights, or build a competing product from Orbit's code.
2. Your content stays yours
Anything you capture in Orbit — text, voice notes, photos, links, locations — is your content. We don't claim any ownership of it, we don't license it from you, and we don't access it.
You're responsible for your captures and for making sure you have the right to record / save them (especially when capturing other people's voices, images, or written content).
3. Subscriptions and payments
Some features of Orbit require an active Orbit Pro subscription, sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Pricing and renewal terms are displayed in the paywall before you confirm a purchase.
Key points:
- Orbit Pro is offered as a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the end of the free trial and at the start of each yearly renewal period.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or in Orbit → Settings → Subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple per their App Store Refund Policy.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Orbit to:
- Save content you don't have the right to save.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or harm another person.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Orbit, its infrastructure, or another user's data.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms.
5. Sign in with Apple
If you sign in with Apple, Apple's terms also apply to that authentication. We use Sign in with Apple only to identify you across devices — see the Privacy Policy for details.
6. AI features
Orbit uses Apple Intelligence (when available on your device) to generate titles, summaries, daily recaps, and answers to your questions about your own captures. The output is best-effort and can sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or surprising. Don't rely on Orbit's AI for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
7. Service availability
We work hard to keep Orbit working well, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available, error-free, or that every feature will work on every device. Apple Intelligence-powered features in particular depend on a compatible iPhone running a current iOS release.
8. Disclaimers
Orbit is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the AI's output is accurate, that all features will work on every device, or that the app will be uninterrupted or bug-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joshua Caleb Green will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Orbit, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to Orbit will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case the limits above apply only to the extent permitted.
10. Termination
You can stop using Orbit at any time by deleting the app and (if you want to also remove any signed-in account state) using Settings → Account → Delete account before deleting.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continuing the service is no longer feasible for us.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms in a material way, we'll update this page and the Effective Date above. Significant changes will be surfaced in the app the next time you open it. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Honduras, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the courts of Honduras.
